I was tempted to blog this from bed after I read it on my Pepperpad at 11pm last night but I just couldn’t build up the excitement for another Apple rumour at that point.
I see the news has gone viral now. Its sitting at the top of Techmeme.
Are you surprised that they have built a prototype? I’m not. I expect Apple have prototyped just about every home electronic device by now. I think one could say with a fair degree of confidence that they’ve also prototyped and priced-up a UMPC too.
The details from today’s story make the device sounds more like a thin client than a tablet PC. I’m glad there’s talk of a docking station. Its an important accessory for any mobile device and it might make other manufacturers think twice about it.
