It was a long time coming but UMPCs are finally shipping with Windows Vista on the VIA UMD platform (C7-M + VX700.) You might have laughed at the little green Vistagami machine at CES but those Amtek boys have pulled through with their T770 UMPC [info] to become the first to ship Vista on VIA. This is great news in general because, if Vista is working, it signals that both OQO and Medion have one less problem to solve before they too can ship their Window Vista devices.
PocketPCSolutions in the UK appear to be the first out of the gate with the T770. They have a demo device now and have told us that the first orders are shipping in UK and Europe with all pre-orders expected to be fulfilled in the next two weeks.
