What is the diff between the eeepc 901 and the 900A you are mentioning in your conversation? Why do your friends prefer it over the current 901 model?
I can't find much info about that 900A ...

Looks like my Fujitsu U810 won't be in danger of being replaced for a few more months now.

The SC3 is slower, bigger, uglier, heavier, less battery life and has lower graphics compatability.

That thing is definitely, definitely cool... great review.

But, $1000 usd? I can get a pretty compact laptop with dedicated ATI video for that price with 3 gigs ram and a 320 gig harddrive.

Yes, that's missing the point of the device (ultra-ultra mobile). But, if I need something ultra mobile for 20-30 minute experiences, mostly online, why would I pay 2-3 times the price (of the Dell netbooks coming out soon)? Just for the touchscreen and tablet functionality and sexy factor?

I don't want this to get into a slagin match, but maybe you can help out prespective customers, I was wondering how DFJ installs vista Ultimate on the SC3, I didn't see the licese sticker on the computer or in your package...

are their going to be problems doing windows update?

Nicely done, Steve! I'm glad you have the black one as well, though the white actually isn't too bad. It's more of a light silver, really. I'm looking forward to seeing how Vista Ultimate performs on 1GB of RAM. My unit runs Home Premium really well, but much of that is likely due to the extra gig of RAM.

Hi Chippy,

Great overview, can't wait to see more!

Do you know if this is a reference design that will show up in other devices, including any to the U.S.? I just love the form factor....

Can you do an indepth compare vs the u810? I'm waiting for my fujitsu to come - the battery life and smaller form attracted me (haven't seen the sc3 in person though)

I still prefer the IBM style pointing devices such as the one found on the Fujitsu U810. It's perfectly balanced when holding it with two hands, making it very easy and comfortable to use when sitting on a couch or easy chair. The touchpads always require you to lay the computer on your lap, or balance it on one hand which tires out your arm.

How's the key double-mapping? Any nasty surprises such as missing keys or essential keys being double-mapped needlessly?

It's too bad Kojinsha doesn't have a proper North American distributor. Their products would definitely give many North American competitors a run for their money!

Great video, and great way you compared the size of everything right next to something else to get a good reference.

It's very hard to see the difference on a web cam unless comparing something right on top over something else like that.

Keep that up!

Thanks for the great unboxing video... the SC3 is really perfect...

Please play a strategy game with its touchscreen I'd really like to see how it performs. Generals Zero Hour is 4 years old and looks great... should work beautifully.
