It may also be worth noting that the Acer Aspire One has just had a price drop in the UK to £179.00 from online and high street retailers, bargain!!

I’m very tempted to pick up white one for the kitchen, I’m just not sure how to “sell” it to wife…

Alese, as long as you hand it over to the wife with a 4G USB stick with a series of Desperate Housewives on it, its a guaranteed winner!

That’s not a bad idea, although my intention wasn’t to use the device as video player it was more like an info hub in the kitchen.
Anyhow I’s just too good an opportunity, so I just bought one - I’ll deal with the wife later

Also worth a note that the another retailer is offering a price match with additional 10% off on said Acer :o)
I personally couldnt get on with the eee 7 series the screen was just the wrong resolution for what I needed.

This is great news we are at last seeing UMPC’s challenging PDA’s on price. Now all we need is the Asus 900’s to be reduced to <£200 and the 901 at £250 1000H at £300 to clearly distinguish them price wise from laptops.

But Apple’s NetBook will not be 150 EUR it’s going to be something like 600 EUR…

My guess is it will be around £400 GBP, which may be higher than some Netbooks, but at least will have an OS that people will keep, and not be looking to upgrade at the earliest opportunity, as I am with my Acer One

I got one and it has the USA keyboard. Also, this Surf model has no webcam and no slip-on bag.
