Sorry for the delayed reply, but thanks! :) I'd like to think if I got anything right in the blog, it was my gender!

MIDs are an interesting term, and I get into fun discussions about it all the time. Intel may have started it, but it has definitely evolved and take on a life of its own.

The information I posted was something from our internal product group. If there are any questions about any of the info I'm happy to take it back to the people who made it and ask them for clarification.

Cheers!

Don't for get that Intel calls everything a mobile internet device from atom-smartphones to high-end UMPCs.
Its the opposite of what I call everything - a UMPCs (with MID, pro-mobile and netbook subcategories.) DOn't worry about the labeling, no one except marketeers uses it! Everyone else searches for product names!

Fixup,

<>

Are you part of the Fujistsu marketing team, since you say "SHOULD BE" or what authority do you hold on the matter? Last I checked privately owned companies in the USA are still allowed to post products or NOT post products to their website however they feel fit, or am I mistaken, has the US government bought up Staples too since I last checked??! :)

<>

I thought you made the point that Staples will NOT carry this product in question??

<>

How far DO you know? :)
Yeah why would the LARGEST OFFICE SUPPLY COMPANY IN THE WORLD (Staples) with some 2000 stores in some 27 countries be allowed to sell it?? Fry's electronics is a very small company (despite your local perception) with some 30 stores TOTAL, out of which SIX of those are in its "native" Silicon Valley. One has stores in almost 30 countries the other has 30 stores, there is a slight difference you know. Common since you're posting on here you're obviously connected to the internet, why not GOOGLE some of the facts before you post?? :) I mean that's all I did, I didn't know Staples was the largest company of it's sort in the world, I knew it was huge compared to little Frys though, but thanks to you I looked it up! ;)

Oh on the Circuit City, I will let you Google that one and you'll see how much you will be buying at CC in the future :) You might want to start on Google's NEWS site :)

If Staples is currently not carrying the U2010, there should be a mark like "coming soon".

Even if Staples is going to carry it, it'll be overly priced for sure.

As far as I know, the only local stores would carry the U2010 should be Fry's that have been selling the U810 (at very good price too). I never saw U810 in any other stores like BestBuy or CircuitCity.

You know what they say "garbage in -> garbage out", I have to say your comment "she has no idea what she's talking about" is a tad ironic because:

A) I assume you are talking about AMANDA who was the first one to COMMENT on the post, just like you are commenting on here now. So SHE has nothing to do with the post as such that is clearly "By Jeff Moriarty" as stated at the top, if you want to learn more about JEFF you can do so here: http://blogs.intel.com/it/authors
Yes it's a HE not a SHE :)

B) Fixup if you're going to accuse someone of something please check your own facts first :)

C) You might want to figure out WHERE Jeff works, and WHO invented the term MID before you accuse HIM (not her) of not knowing what MID means LOL :)

Just because the device(s) aren't on Staples website at this point (when they NONE of these really are marketed by any real/major US retailers yet) doesn't mean they won't be offering them! I'm sure an Intel employee has access to more specific pre-launch marketing information than most of us commenters on here!
