This video is recorded in about 600kbps. Higher quality than normal but there should be absolutely no problem in streaming it from ustream servers. It's working fine here in Germany.

I'll be putting the MP3 up this evening though so you'll have another listening option.

Ditto - the audio, or rather the video of the audio, skips here too. Almost unable to even bear it to get to the end. Had to keep pausing and listening, pausing and listening to listen to the whole thing where the words could be understood.

http://wiki.laptop.org/go/OpenBox

"Given up on Sugar (at least for now)? Finding even XFCE a little bit slow?

This guide is for you. It's neither simple nor quick, but the effort put into installing OpenBox on your OLPC will be richly rewarded.

NOTE: This guide does not uninstall the base fedora operating system and need not uninstall sugar either, so know keep in mind that if all else fails you'll have lost naught but 40 recoverable megabytes and a few hours".

Tech Crunch S____s... or is being paid to write from a certain point of view.

Now, the only thing missing in the tech reporting "PRESS" (and yes bloggers are the "PRESS" these days too) is coverage on the screens from Pixel Qi. All our battery problems will become less important when and IF the new screens due out in Q1 or Q2 of this next year INDEED can save on battery life by 5 fold.

Also missing is why no netbook manufacturer has yet has equaled the battery use time of the One Lap Top Per child XO-1 of 11 hours (note that the OLPC XO-1, has a terrible keyboard for adults, but the rest of the tech is revolutionary... dual mode sunlight readable screen, better battery tech, and shutting off the processor totally when needing only to read a screen OR type something on it, etc).

When ASUS came out with this EEE PC device, and as everyone else followed, I kept waiting and waiting for someone to even equal the tech of the OLPC XO-1... and to date, no one has come close (albeit the SSD and RAM needed to be bigger but if you use the following modification to the fedora based software, and use OpenBox on the OLPC XO-1, even with 256MB RAM you get a wonderfully "normal" netbook user experience. If you have not tried OpenBox before then go to CrunchBang Linux, download the .iso file, burn a CD and run it live to see how fast that the OpenBox user experience is with very little RAM use.
