Hey chippy - you mentioned your SC3 again, after all this time. Has it stablised any after the initial problems? There's activity in the forum but nothing that says - wow, now it works good!?!?!

I have got few applications that runs on my mobile, would be glad to use them in a tablet/desktop profile without any rewrite. I would get it without blinking, provided it comes preloaded with Android.

Viliv S7 comes to mind when i think of 7" convertible umpc... 1.8ghz cpu, upgradable ram and 60gb HD, and GPS. Any chance they have a working model at CES? Man I hope they come out with more multi touch netbooks and umpcs. I would so use it as my navigation and digital comic book reader.

I still think that a 7" size, packed into a tablet, may be the best form factor for a netbook, used as a dash-board mounted GPS device.
I have been thinking about Fujitsu's U820, but its price is the real stopper ... if there was a decent 7" tablet, built on a dual-core processor and equipped with 2GB of RAM and an HDD (60 or 120GB), I would try to be the first in the line

Yes but it allows for thinner designs due to much smaller die and lower heat dissipation. 1.33Ghz will be fine for a netbook. Even windows 7 runs at an acceptable speed.

Very interesting. I have long thought that a convertible would be the way to go on a netbook. The GPS might be good for some things, like Geocaching.
