The problem is that it looks like it is too wide in the depth to ever be jacket size. There is a huge market for a small laptop you can take everywhere but it needs to be about 7" to 7.5" by 3.6" to 4.25" with a height under 1.3" for it to be mobile enough to carry yet still be long enough to provide a touch type keyboard. If they made it that size I'd buy two of them for the household and more for people at work.

Not too bothered about Sony since they are usually overpriced but the new Q1 Ultra sounds interersting. If Samsung uses a similar backlit keyboard as on the Wibrain and a touchpad it would be enough for me to upgrade.

After looking at the cheap MIDs coming like Luuon and the Viliv, I'll say no to the expensive Japanese versions. I mean, they look good but they don't have anything exceptional other than the price(~2x).

Thanks for the tip everyone. Excitement is high over the Sony and Samsung posibilities (for me!) Will look deeper into these as I return to full office power. Need to get rid of some of this food, alcohol in my blood and constant holiday distractions. (Xbox, relatives, etc!)

While I was going to return with the links, it seems DrNick already has done so. Thank you Nick.

It is actually not that good of a manipulated image. Have a look at the corners of the bezel. It doesn't look proper.

A new version of the Q1? That would be interesting. Especially if they would come out with a version that has actual vendor supported Ubuntu, filling in some of the gaps missing from Ubuntu-UMPC's support of the Q1's.

(I mostly love mine, but there are _some_ annoyances)

It's a shopped image of a Vaio TT. I'm on my iPod so providing you with a link will be hard, but check Engadget for a similar article and you'll see for yourself Chippy.
