The past couple of weeks I have been playing with the idea of getting the Vaio P to replace my Asus EEE, this mainly as I've been helping a friend who's been looking for a FW series, thereof my attention to (one of my favorite brands) Sony.

Now looking at the pictures I was just reminded why it was a huge turn off at CES, the Vista only (no XP support explicitly pointed out by the Sony reps!) I really don't want Vista especially not on a mobile device of this sort (I don't dare to call it a Netbook, UMPC, nor MID :)). Wonder how Win7 would be on this. On the other hand my "on-the-go" PC should not have any added factors (such as a new OS) that I am not used to nor tried & tested with all my needs and programs.

Also I must say I really have a hard time with track sticks, on the OQO 2+ thanks to the touch screen I think I could live with it, I did with a couple of 02's before despite no (passive) touch screen. I must say though the UMID's "no-touchpad-nor-track-stick" setup is worrying me a bit too (despite touch screen).

Let see how this Vaio P catches on! I think Jenn might just match the target demographic for this device (well to some degree, female tech blogger not being part of that! :))

P.S. I'm mentioning OQO and UMID only from a mouse solution/option only, as for me the Vaio P and (true pocketables like) OQO & UMID for me wouldn't be the same category product nor purpose.
