A few days late, but I’m ready to start my portion of the Mid Moves tour. My two devices have made their tortuous route from CES at Las Vegas, across the Atlantic, through the Fed Ex depot at Stanstead Airport, waited in a draft warehouse on the edge of Edinburgh, and into my hands.
I’ll properly introduce the devices (the Compal MID and BenQ S6) at the start of the first and third days, but before then I wanted to give you a little taste of what I’m planning.
As I said previously, given that the internet is becoming an almost required element of daily life. So I wanted to spend four days taking the MIDs, and you, around Scotland as I make very tenuous connections to the classical elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water.
I should warn you now that I’m not going to be doing anything stupidly dangerous, so fire is going to be a bit of a cop-out (The insurance for some of my original plans was more than Intel’s marketing budget for the year…), but it gives me a wide range of environments to see what the MIDs are capable of, where they work well, and where they might be lacking.
I’ll see you all tomorrow!
