Still would rather use my Kohjinsha SX4!! Much better build and is a laptop not a netbook and far more reliable! Plus it comes with a windows OS! And i have 3g embedded into mine! Its brilliant!!

Just what I was thinking, John. I want Linux (or better yet, Mac OS X) on my netbook so at least I can have ONE machine that is free from the constant hassle of virus updating, spyware checking, yada, yada. I’m running Eeebuntu on my EeePC 701 and wouldn’t trade it for Windows for anything (though I’m happy to use WinXP on my office notebook).

This is marketing stuff I think. Besides, once I get this I’m going to make my own custom Flash based launcher anyway. Which will use WAY less memory.

I don’t disagree that having a launcher like this is useful particularly for a smaller screen/touch screen device that a lot of people might mount on their dash or something. I just know how to program in Flash and will be able to make a “better” custom one to suit my needs perfectly.

lets ask the other way round: what’s the benefit?

install launchy or something. to start quickly an app is the quickest and easiest way of starting anything on a computer. quick access!!

with this launcher you first have to start the actual launcher, wait until it’s loaded, then you have to go with your fingers and swipe from one side to the other until you finally find something you need… great value..

people forget on what’s important on a computer: fast and reliable, why do people want a good, fast computer and then installing this useless crap! it does not make it easier to start applications or anything. it adds clunk/clutter..or whatever you want to call it. the computer does not get better with this thing.

I’m impressed to see that is has good animations but I’ll still have to see if the design vision is good. I never want eye-candy to get in the way of productivity. It really needs to be capacitive touch based if they want good finger (not stylus) interfacing.
