I've never tried this, but if you put your laptop/netbook/mid/umpc in hibernate mode, could you switch batteries, then wake it back up from hibernate mode w/ everything you were working on intact?

This is insane!!!!
Who would have ever thought an Atom powered device could be introduced at 1200Euro's!
It's just grandly INSULTING! (especially now that it's more then 1 year aged)

The first EeePc came out for $200.
The atom processor which should be a cheap processor sold for no more then $90 per 1000 pack (or something), was not expected to raise the price of the EeePc by that much!
Using it, the battery, screensize and storage was enlarged (prices for storage more then halved in price past 2 years), and Asus feels no shame selling these pc's for 600 (3x their original price; not to mention what made the EeePc interesting was it's hackability and it's introduction price (aim price) of a $150 pc; (which they never reached)).

The flaw of the Atom was it's ?130 or 95? nm designed chipset, and it's slower graphics processor, meaning slow 3D performance and low battery life.

The Atom has proven to barely be able to run the Vista OS.
So on top of a terrible combination, the price of the Fujitsu U2010 should be at least halved.
Besides I read comments on JKK that the screen resolution is too dense to comfortably read text on it's 5,6" screen in 1280x800.

yes, spare is only an option, if the battrey life of a single unit is long enough for most purposes.
Is there any way to do voice calls with the umid directly? or do you have to use a headset? Or isnt it possible at all?

I think the umid deservews a broader screen wich makes use of the whole keyboard size. or just make the keyboard smaller... it wont be enough for touchtyping anyway...

I;m currently going down the spare battery route with my u1010 and I'm finding it very annoying. Having to reboot for a battery change is what gets me because i have to drop everything i'm doing.

I wouldn't hesitate in considering the UMID m1 if it had a larger battery capacity. At 17Wh it's simply not enough for my purposes.

It's a pretty slim device at 19mm, i would gladly accept an extra 5mm or so if they could cram another 10Wh into the battery.

Chippy -- in the following, I assume you mean Touch HD?

The ones that didn’t make it to the list:

    * HTC Touch Pro (Good CPU and screen) Not in the list because it doesn’t have a keyboard.
