UMID M1 UMPC launches in Korea

Posted on 21 February 2009 by Chippy

Pocketables.net  have just reported on the official launch of the UMID M1, one of the favorite devices amongst visitors here (#2 today) and my personal favorite as a potential killer microblogging tool.

Local pricing is available and it matches what we heard before but there’s still no news about export pricing or 3G. A quick chat with Mobilx this morning revealed that they don’t have any dates yet but are expecting news very soon. Like Pocketables, we’re expecting a demo device.

    Steve,

Sorry for posting my comment here because is not related to the umid, but do you know when would you put a formal review for the oqo 2+, I saw your twitter page and noticed that you claim you got the umpc for a second round a few days ago(I guess oqo was worried about your comments on the first unit and the impression it would leave on future customers :) …) Anyways, thank you and great site, it always keeps me informed about the new gadgets

Im sorry, there wont be a full review of the oqo until its possible with a final device. We spoke to oqo about the device we had and it was clear that it was a few iterations away from final. Battery, noise, heat, screen, 3g and other elements still need to be finalised.
    Regards
