I don’t understand why they have they not managed to fit a slider keyboard into this design

because a slider KB requires alot of space (slider/hinge design). thats why although Viliv & Aigo are nearly identical in size & thickness the Viliv gets nearly triple the battery life (even with the more power-hungry specs)

I can see why you’d need all the extra battery life if the only way of inputing is via a touchscreen.
This one really does seem like a throw back design to the Origami first wave of devices released two-three years ago, none of which sold that well. Slates aren’t that popular for windows devices.
I am sure they will supply a keyboard option too, but its less than ideal in my opinion

The pre-orders in Korea went beyond expectations for the device so I’d expect to be pretty popular overseas too. The S5 has none of the early Origami based devices’ fault which includes low battery life and less than expected performance.
Not having Slider KB is a downside, but IMO I would sacrifice little inconvenience for 2-3x battery time. Having looked at some internal screenshots of the S5 the only way to have a slider KB form factor with S5 battery life is waiting for Moorestown.
