FitPC + Samsung 8” USB Monitor = Modular Portable PC /CarPC

This is not a ultra mobile PC but could make a nice Portable or CarPC. The FitPC has been upgraded to use an Intel Atom 1.1 or 1.6 Z-series CPU so if you load up XP and plug in the USB Powered (apparently) Samsung frame/mini monitor you’ve got quite a cheap modular PC. Quite a cute solution for around $400.

You can see the Samsung monitor SPF-87H on Engadget:
    http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/24/samsung-ships-129-spf-87h-8-inch-digiframe-secondary-monitor/

    it’s apparently shipping now, at a price of $US 129. There’s also a larger 10″ version, SPF-107H.

That FitPC (not shipping yet, though supposedly it will this month) would make a good little light-duty home webserver. Time to off-load my Mac Mini?
