Posted on 19 May 2009 by Chippy

JKK and myself are struggling to install Moblin V2 Beta on anything at the moment as it looks like the image is corrupt so in the meantime, here’s a new walkthrough video. Thanks to DJore for the tip!

Looks amazing Chippy, can’t wait to see you guys try this out on some of your devices! The UMID and S5 would be of particular interest as this looks very finger friendly, that is of course, assuming that you can find some touch-screen drivers…

I after having problem trying to download from the official site i tried to download from torrent site and the image looks ok … I am playing with it now but looks like there still lots of bugs to solve out … The interface is slick and a step forward from what we have seen so far … Nice job intel …

there is minefield browser ( experimental firefox) by default witch u can use some of the addons
the repos are to small and u can’t use the distro as a main os .

It’s one thing optimising your OS for netbooks but I think trying to run your website on one is going a bit far! Moblin.org has been killed the last couple of days but as Djore says the image on the torrents is ok. I used a live CD (USB stick wouldn’t work) on my T1028M. No touchscreen, no touchpad, no wireless, no 3G, no battery indicator but the interface looks nice. As a beta it still has quite a lot of work to be done but I can see it being a good OEM option
