Good information. These days I just got a Samsung Omnia SCH-i910 inside the mail from ebay, and it presently would seem that it's at stock settings for your Verizon Network. I program to use this telephone on Metro PCS. I also wish to place Windows Mobile 6.5 on right here, but I'm not positive which purchase I really should do this in. Need to I carry it to Metro PCS as is and have it activated, and then afterwards flash the ROM with 6.five? Or really should I modify the ROM initial after which it consider it to Metro PCS? I've been looking around and I'm unable to discover the answer to this.

well gigabyte TG01 will have a 4.1" screen with 1Ghz chip, and many mids come with 4.8" 800Mhz menlows or something similar....the gap is narrowing!!!

Smartphone can not be a contender to MID. It is still a phone. MID is much closer to computer (USB host, screen size and so...)

I demoed the N97 and it felt very sluggish indeed. and the keyboard was relatively irritating to type in comparison to the HTC. in fact *IF* your primary goal is email on the move similar to a blackberry, I found the HTC touch pro 2 to be the best device for that. Most ergonomic keyboard, and I prefer the horizontal layout for email in comparison to the normal blackberries with the keyboard or the horrific storm.
The N97 seems to be more of a media phone than a business phone.
However, I have found S60 on my E65 to be resilient, and reliable with lots of good software and the N97 will have better battery life :(
But smaller low-res screen.....the choice is yours. sadly I'm jumping to WinMo...but I'm keeping my E65 :p

Sorry if I may sound quite irrelevant, but if you skip the 800 by 480 res. you can have the same form factor with 640 by 320, 32 gig. plus whatever micro sd you stick in it, and 16 mill.colors FULL READABLE even under direct sunlight...you know what I am talking for....!?

That's one of the many things I love about my Nokia E90 - both screens are fantastic to use no matter where you are, even in direct sunlight. My next phone must have this same capability but sadly, that doesn't seem to be what most manufacturers are interested in.

The other contender in this bracket is the Acer M900 it seems.
3.8" screen, 480x800 res, sliding qwerty, Arm 11 based Samsung S3C6410 @ 533MHz with 1500mah.
And don't forget the HTC touch pro 2:
3.6", 480x800, slide+tilt qwerty, ARM11 based Qualcomm 7200A @ 612Mhz with 1500mah.

The land of qwerty smartphones/mids is really hotting up!!! then there is the TG01 @ 1Ghz with QSD8250...but only 1000mah battery :(

Actually, I do, daily. Excel spread sheets, Word doc's other, business related soft, and of course, internet, email, voice calls. All on my WM device. At this point it is hard to imagine what would I do without it. But still I would love to have something portable, capable with a bigger screen, something like Asus T91 or Archos9 with 8.9" -10" screen. (7" and smaller are not so good for my eyes).

it's still on rumors, i don't put my hopes high but yes iPhone 3GS has A8 Cortex so it would be a let-down from Samsung. Still there are power consumption issues, nVidia chose for Tegra the ARM 11 core for specific power issues.

Where did you hear that from? I was hoping it would have the new Samsung Cortex-A8 based SoC. If Apple is (supposedly) using it in the 3GS, I find it unusual that Samsung would use an older model in their top-of-the-line smartphone.
