flashblock works “too” well !

I wonder how ling it will be until advertisers find a way to get around it

(Dynamism flash avert is now gone from UMPCportal and jkkmobile!)

I have two profiles on my firefox and one of them is using noscript. IMO its not a very good product.

It botches too many regular sites with unexpected effects. I use the combination of flashblock and RIP (remove this perminantly) add-ons and IME are much better alterative than noscript.

Introducing Noscript does come with the need to keep an eye on what is being blocked. It’s true.

I’m going to check out FlashBlock.

you will find afterall that you have to enable almost all of the scripts to make websites worthwhile experience. for viewing sites its fine, but for almost ANY kind of interaction you need scripts.

just using an extension like FLashBlock is almost all you need, its flash movies & ads that cause 99% of the slowdown. plus you still have a placeholder to view them manually & all your other scripts are still running so everything still works.

I turn off Javascript on my Nokia N810 and it makes a world of difference.

Other important thing on Firefox is not to have too many bookmarks. Bookmarks eat RAM like CRAZY!
