I see a military application for this if it was less complex. Like only 3 major pieces (Glasses, MID/Netbook, and wireless arm keyboard. Now if the screen could go translucent! Now that would be something. But the Government has no problem spending billions on all the cool toys.

Ben, if he hasn't seen it already, let fiveseven808 know about the iKey AK-39 (http://www.ikey.com/NewProducts/?productID=158) wearable keyboard. Additionally, I've also been interested in the wearable computer for quite some time and my the company I work for may be interested in this for our clients so fiveseven808 is welcome to PM me in the forum here or on micropctalk.com if he is interested in discussing it more. He may be able to convince me to try doing the same with my Vaio UX, but I'm presently not brave enough and thus get to the point of being able convince my company to put funding into this.

As far as HMD prices go, he is very much correct about the MyVu being cheap for VGA res. The best HMD I've seen for under $5K was from MicroOptical and that was barely under $5k for 1024x768 back then. I don't think they even make it anymore.

Anyway to ask him for instructions on how he cut his myvue in half? Thinking about just buying an EyeTop Centra because it's already monocular. Resolution isn't as good though =(

I've seen some tech demos using figure gesture recognition tracking for input, but they require the use of cameras to watch your fingers. A glove mouse would be cool though, I could see something like that floating around there.

one thought came to mind, could one use the fingers as a kind of mousepad?

that is, rib the thumb and index finger against each other to create a kind of mousepad, and snapping them to get a click?
