I like the integrated phone. Use it with a bluetooth watch and SmartMadSoft’s software, together with a bt earpiece and you won’t have to pull it out of the bag (or pocket if you have large ones) to see who’s calling, to answer calls, to get SMS’s, etc etc. Suddenly it looks more appealing.

Hmmm…I wonder, in light of the new UMID M2, would ITG (the makers of the XPPHONE) try to speed up XPPHONE’s launch in order to gain market penetration b4 the M2 arrives? The “plus” for the XPPHONE is its suppossedly integrated phone capabilities into the unit…hmmm…

I know AMD’s Geode, Athlon, Turion, Phenom and also the upcoming new Neo processor line up, but I have no idea what an AMD Super Mobile CPU could be; also, the inclusion of all current 3G standards (W-CDMA, CDMA2000 and TD-SCDMA) seems a bit utopic since it cannot be done with a single chipset.

I think there is a smell of vapour ware around this device. Perhaps it will be shipped with Duke Nukem Forever.

Yes, but does it run Linux?
(Slashdot meme, but in this case, I mean it.) Ubuntu Netboook Remix, with drivers for most of the hardware and some sort of (even simple) dialer, and I’d be there. Why put all that effort into a design based on an OS that the OS vendor wants to get rid of?

That link looks interesting. 6″ MID produced in China, I hope it’s well priced like other Chinese MIDs!

I’m also interested in how AMD can put out a low-power processor clocked at 1ghz in the XPphone. Hopefully the graphics are better than Intel’s current UMPC solutions…

The technical specs look pretty amazing for the power and the out of standby via incoming call part. The CPU is not(only CPU remotely capable of running XP at that sort of power is the Geode series that’s not Athlon core, since it happens to be full SoC).

But what I would really want is thing like this with WiMax and a proper VoIP service(one that includes everything on a regular phone like emergency service). Now that would be sweet since I won’t have to pay for Internet and celluar service(which compared to internet per KB is VERY expensive), but a combined one at regular broadband internet prices, plus a internet everywhere.
