i am sure one will find a easy to install package in the maemo app manager soon, that will enable bluetooth keyboard support.

i can see why nokia didnt bother tho, as the N900 has a thumb keyboard built in. The N810 basically inherited its support from the N800 as they shared maemo versions.

if acer do the dual boot more like HTC did with shift, or dell is doing with lattitude on (basically building in a ARM computer next to the x86 computer), and allow the user to swap between them at will, things will get really interesting ;)

I wonder why archos 5 is capable of bt keyboard pairing and use and why not a htc magic with the same version of android is not.

As I use htc magic in a corporate environment, I just can't hack the device in order to make the bt keyboard work.

The important question here is if it is going to be possible with 1.6 or if we'll have to wait eclair

If this is Android and has HID Bluetooth, can we get that Bluetooth capability ported to a G1?

Engadget has just announced that Acer will shortly offer the D250 laptop with duo boot Android and Windows XP (switching to Windows 7 later.) Who do you think will come out with the first Desktop Android computer?

Chippy, I know you are excited about Nokia but Android may be the operating system to keep an eye on for Smartphones, UMPCs, Netbooks, Notebooks and future Desktop computers. Google has the time and money to make this happen and several major manufacturers commiting to hardware.

Hello, I was expecting this kind of Bluethooth profiles from Nokia, especially in Freemantle, for the N900. :)) Seems that Google is few steps ahead, given the fact that even for a BT ketboard you have to modify the config files on N900. One step closer to pc replacement :D

You are so correct "Turn_self_off"

In the past people were trying to get their desktop experience, Windows, on a small mobile device. With Android we have a potential full desktop experience being developed from the bottom up. IE: first appearing on small devices and then migrating up to desktop machines. If Google can get Adobe, Intuit and the others to port their desktop programs to Android, Microsoft will be history in 10 years.

interesting that they planned so far ahead that they put a mouse pointer into android.

if one then consider the video that showed up some months ago about android with windowed capability (that is, things where not always running full screen), i would say that android is a full os lacking apps more then anything else...

Impressive.

Android using PMP/MID category device realy interesting thing, unfortunately currently not much stable.

It's not Archos related problem - but Amazon currently suspend Archos sales link -> http://www.electricpig.co.uk/2009/10/12/archos-5-internet-tablet-amazon-suspends-sales/ - have all Android PMP device (SmartQ5 Covia, Zii EGG etc...).

It's no fun to use a bluetooth keyboard on the go, e.g. in a subway. See photo:

What "remote desktop" client are you running on it? One that only comes on the Archos, or one from the app store? or what?

(being able to do that from my G1 would be rather awesome)
