lanlanb, I am a UMPC/Netbook neophyte, so almost as soon as I discover one exciting product I discover another one that seems even more exciting. The viliv s10 is an awesome looking machine, but I read somewhere that it was "not upgradeable" (ie, no RAM or HDD upgrades are possible). I've also not been able to find definitive confirmation whether the T1028X has a multi-touch screen or not. Are you sure it does?

Hi! The T1028X is an amazing device and would take advantage of all Win7 has to offer, Multitouch, great resolution 1366x768, battery life, 1.6ghz as opposed to the 1-1.3ghz on other "touch" netbooks.

I have 12.1 TX2 HP for now to meet my MultiTouch needs, and various netbooks or my "ultraportable" needs, however debating to get this device, I'd like t see it in person though feel it's weight and size (sure a ton smaller than this TX2).

This 1028X is the top o the list terms of "available now" devices. My peeve on the T91MT is the 32gb HD. I like the Archos 9, but no MT. I seem to be holding off for the Viliv S10, but if yu are looking soemthing right now, I'd suggest either the 1028X o the M912X.

Yeah, I guess the ASUS marketing department wasn't on the same page as the ASUS product development department. They can't possibly say it was because they were in a hurry to get it released, seeing as they have been teasing us with the T91SA and T91MT for about a year now.

Indeed, this website has probably saved me from ill-spent savings. I'm not frustrated with this website, just suffering from "decisional paralysis." The T1028X is now my current favorite... the non-removable battery in the T91MT seems to be a show-stopper for me.

Thanks for the info kubel... its pretty sad that they quite clearly showed pressure sensitivity in that intro video, but I figured it could have just been a proof of concept.

No pressure sensitivity, and as far as I can tell, no palm rejection. The only palm rejection it has is when it thinks you are trying to do a gesture. Putting your palm and your stylus on the screen in Journal, for instance, will create a scrolling gesture. The 'ink' stops flowing at that point.

I'm thinking gestures are application dependent. If you are using MS Paint, for instance, you can clearly see there's no built-in palm rejection (and no real useful gestures that I could see).

Also, a few tid bits that I'll include with my full review:

1) Two out of three of the mini-pci-express slots are factory soldered (both are occupied by SSD and WiFi). The third one (in the middle) can be used for 3G/GPS, but ASUS decided not to include a slot for the US market. So get out your soldering iron if you want 3G.

2) My unit came missing at least one WiFi antenna. I haven't fully disassembled the unit (I'll let other reviewers do that), but from removing the bottom cover, I see one bare corner WiFi antenna port.

3) There's an apparent bug in Eee Storage that seems to be generating system backups even when the option is disabled. It slows the already low-powered system down to a crawl and can only be stopped by killing the Eee Storage and SystemBackup process.

4) Don't bother wasting your time with the ASUS calibration utility. At least when I tried it, it didn't work too well. Stick with the Windows 7 calibration tool.

It seems the longer I shop around, the more confused I'm getting. Only yesterday I was ready to pull the trigger on a viliv s7, and today I'm finding myself scanning what's available in the 9-10" netbook/tablet arena. It would probably be easier to make a decision if I could wrap my head around the choices! The apparent lack of really good reviews isn't helping, along with the fact that Win 7 is out, and only a few devices seem to have the hardware to make the most use of it (speaking specifically of multi-touch screens). Today, I've spent some time looking at the T91MT and am wondering how this compares with the Gigabyte T1028X and the Asus T101H, or T101P, or whatever they call it... if it exists? Is there another unit I should look at first? Are there more coming? Help!!
