Acer Aspire S3 in Champagne (and High-Contrast Keyboard)

Posted on 08 March 2012, Last updated on 08 March 2012 by

The Acer S3 isn’t the best looking Ultrabook. I think most agree on that but this Champagne-coloured version is a step in the right direction, especially with the high-contrast keyboard which fixes one of the minor complaints I had about the original S3. In this video I give you a quick overview of the changes. I’m assuming the  S3-391 is available immediately.

Lol; don’t worry about the abysmal battery life; just change the paint on the keys and release it in different colors..?!?

Speaking of battery life. I’m really, REALLY looking for somewhere that I can compare Ultrabooks based upon battery life and/or capacity.

The marketing claims by each vendor vary WIDELY even for the same capacity battery with near identical hardware so that can’t be trusted. Actual battery capacity and Mobile Mark scores are the sort of thing that I’m looking for.

Anyone know where I might find this?

Bigger review sites have reviewed nearly all ultrabooks. I hope they test every unit the same way for battery life, so numbers from them should be comparable.

Searching google for the ultrabook and “battery whr” comes up with results for battery capacity.

We have all the Whr figures in the database and are working on normalising all our battery life tests. I will look at adding the information I already have over the next few days.

Hi steve, what do you have to say about Acer Aspire timeline U M3. I don’t want to compromise on screen size (15″) and battery (8 hrs) at the same time I want a thin and light weight (< 2 kg) Ultrabook. Basically I will be using it for watching HD movies, web browsing and a little bit of video editing and ms office. Do you think M3 is a good option or do you suggest some thing else.
