Novatech nFinity 2367 gets First Review

Techradar, one of the mainstream tech sites in the UK, has had enough time with the Novatech nFinity 2367 to put out an early review. There’s nothing here to get too excited about if you’ve been reading other Ultrabook reviews but an SSD-based laptop for this price is certainly worth considering, ultrabook or not.

The nFinity 2367 is clearly not the most attractive Ultrabook, weighs a little more and has cut a few corners on the specs to get to the price but there’s an SSD on offer here along with a 2GB and ‘no-OS’ option that takes the price even lower. Ubuntu fans looking for an SSD-based laptop will want to take a very close look here.

The TechRadar review fills in a few of the unknowns. The screen appears to be OK, the performance on par with other Ultrabooks in the same class and battery life could be a cut above other options. We were expecting that given the relatively big battery capacity in the nFinity.

There’s a red flag going up in the keyboard department but it’s not clear just how bad that is right now.

TechRader reports a 3DMark score of 3548 which is very high compared to other Core i3 solutions.

The review was done on the 4GB Core i3 version – The Novatech nFinity 2367 Plus at £624.98 (inc VAT) is about 80 pounds less than the cheapest SSD-based laptops in the UK – the Toshiba Z830 10T Ultrabook and Samsung 900X1B ultrathin that both have Core i3 solutions.

How is the compatability with Ubuntu, does it support the display, wireless card etc?

I haven’t personally tested it but i’ve read one report that was very positive about an out-of-the-box Ubunti experience. Sorry I don’t have the link to hand.

Nice ultrabook with an attractive price!
