Appearing on Geizhals.at very briefly this week were the ASUS Zenbook Prime UX31A and UX21A models. Although the resellers appear to have pulled their offerings, it’s left a trail of specs and prices behind.

The UX31A and UX21 are the next generation Ultrabooks from ASUS. They’ve had some early reviews which have been very positive but unfortunately the CPUs details are under NDA. Seeing as we’ve just found the details in the public, we might as well relay them to you.

A really nice little laptop right there. I have a few questions though :)

Does anyone have a clue if the i5 would run cooler/quieter than the i7? Or the 1.7 quieter than the 1.9?

Is there a software solution to use a function-lock? I wouldn’t mind that on my current Asus, nor on this ultrabook.

Does anyone have any benchmarks of the SSD in these models?
