Gigabyte X11 Ultrabook – First Specs. Ivy Bridge included.

Following up our story last night which looked at the similarity between the Gigabyte X11 and the Mouse Computers Luvbook X, the Gigabyte X11 has finally been revealed as an Ivy Bridge Ultrabook. At 973gm it beast the Luvbook X11 that we still think it is based on by just 5gm.  There doesn’t seem to be uch in the way of specifications yet so we wonder if this information is leaked or from a press release.

X11 launch Gigabyte X11 (2)

The processor on the Gigabyte X11 will be revealed in run-up to Computex (3rd or 5th June we hear) but you can expect the Core i5-3317U to be in the line-up somewhere; it appears to be the mainstream choice when it comes to 2nd-Gen Ultrabooks.

128GB SSD, Bluetooth 4.0 , Two USB ports, the mini display port and a micro-SD slot. The Verge reports a ‘launch’ in July. TechPowerUp reports availability in Q3.

The dimensions – 297 x 192 x 3~16.5 mm are within 2mm of the LuvBook dimensions but given the carbon fiber body, port positioning, keyboard and hinge layout, the relationship is clear. A 35Wh battery puts this in the 4-5hr battery life bracket.

The Gigabyte X11 is now in the database.

Girl is cute. Anyways… GIGABYTE lied about the lightest ultrabook thing I think. The NEC Z is supposedly sub 2lbs, so less than .9kg.

  5. Jordan says:

Is the girl made out of carbon fiber too?

  6. Robert says:

maybe the idea is lightly clad = light weight
wouldnt speculate on boot time though ;)

I like the way it looks, but I’d want to hear more about the actual experience: screen quality, sound quality, keyboard and noise.

As for the girl – I have a friend who works as a ring girl and at car shows. I don’t really get it myself, but I guess that without them there just wouldn’t be any females at those shows. :P

The big manufacturers should be ashamed that such a insignificant company (besides motherboards) can come up with a perfect ultrabook. Whilst the 2nd generation ultrabooks are getting heavier and in actually fact losing its definition of an ultrabook, Gigabyte is the only company that has made the effort in coming out with something more portable and lighter. Shame on Intel as well for not really pusing the initial definition of ultrabook and instead, allowing all sorts of devices to be called ultrabook.
