Just minutes ago at the CES keynote, Intel announced, briefly, that they have a dual-OS platform ready. Windows and Android on one device.
The live demo worked!
We know little right now apart from the fact that the Android part will include additional security. In an on-stage demo the switch time was near-instant. Have Intel developed a better solution than ASUS, Insyde? Does it have a true dual-virtual container? The exciting thing is that Intel have the best access to hardware drivers so getting all the hardware mapped through to both operating systems could be easier.
Dual-OS is not easy so don’t expect this as any sort of installable download. This is something for the OEMS to use.

Hope this dies a quick death.
I used to dream about this kind of machines many years ago. But now they can do it, I no longer want it. The concept was useful when Windows was slow to boot and has short battery life. Now I found Windows 8 quite sufficient. My atom based W8 machine has about the same battery life as my android and is also instant on. There’s no application I must do on my Android that I can’t do on my Windows 8.
The only reason I still need the android is because they are smaller (from 4″ to 7″), if I goes above 8″, windows 8 is good enough.
Pointless. I rather see Intel help make Ubuntu Touch be relesed faster. You know, another touch friendly full desktop capable OS.
