I’ve just finished the full review of the Lenovo Flex 10 for Notebookcheck.net. Check it out for a very detailed look at performance and features. Below you’ll find my overview review video and some personal opinion on the Flex 10 which I think is a very interesting package for around $320 / $300 Euro

I’m reviewing an 830 gram / 1.83 pound 11.6-inch Core i5 Windows tablet for Notebookcheck.net this week and after 24 hours I’ve got a good feeling for where this HP Pro X2 410 G1 is going. There are some really impressive specs and performance figures here but they’re sitting alongside some fundamental issues. One of those issues always will be an issue and it’s something that also affects the Surface […]

The Acer Iconia W4 is a recent addition to the 8-inch Windows tablet scene and it brings with it a full line-up of specifications that include HDMI, GPS, large-capacity battery as well as an interesting set of keyboard accessories. There’s a 21Mbps 3G version available too and that’s the one we’ve got here. Thanks to Acer Europe for sending it over for review.

Schenker is a EU-wide brand selling mostly OED PCs. The Schenker Elements 10-inch tablet is their entry into the new Windows tablet market and we had some time to take a look at it in Hannover this week.

After spending so much time with the first line of 8-inch tablets it was good to spend a bit more time with a retail version of the Lenovo Thinkpad 8, a tablet that offers a number of additional features but costs a little more. A quick disk, CPU and OpenGL test gave us confirmation that this product has more than just a higher resolution screen. The Z3770 CPU, 8MP camera, […]

In a walk-through of the building sites that will tomorrow be part of the opening day of CeBIT 2014 we spotted Ramos and some i8 Pro signage. 15 minute later the helpful employees had unpacked their transport cases and revealed the i8 Pro. It wasn’t a working sample but we got a good look, picked up the specifications and put together a video for you. It’s difficult to see where […]

At MWC last week I had my first chance to go hands-on with the Dell Venue 11 Pro. Yes, it’s been on sale for a while, I know, but it’s one of the devices I just haven’t got round to testing yet. I wish I had done this earlier because it’s a nice bit of kit with an excellent keyboard. It feels high quality and the tablet isn’t too heavy. […]

This completes my assessment of every single 8-inch Windows tablet out there today. I’ve fully reviewed the Toshiba Encore WT8, the ASUS Vivotab Note 8 and am currently reviewing the Dell Venue 8 Pro. At MWC last week I got hold of the Lenovo Thinkpad 8, the Lenovo Miix 2 8 and the Acer W4 to complete the flush. I spent as much time as I could trying to work […]

I’ve got a number of device videos to talk about from MWC 2014 in Barcelone but before I hit the airport for the return home I wanted to take a closer look at the rugged keyboard case. Personally I love it and want it. The elitepad makes a great 10-inch tablet but if you add this keyboard case, you’re really set for a lot of on-the-road work. Video below. […]

At a pre-MWC event yesterday evening I got a look at the updated HP Elitepad 1000 G2. It’s now running Baytrail-T (Z3795), comes with a 64-Bit version of Windows and has 4GB of RAM. There’s also, as before, a great selection of sleeves and a dock that now includes USB3.0

A pen isn’t just for handwriting input on Windows tablets. In this ‘hands-on’ video I show you a number of scenarios that are important to consider including the simple fact that the digitizer pen on the ASUS Vivotab Note 8 is stowed on-board. Also included: palm rejection, pressure sensitivity, hover actions, desktop access, annotation and a demo of wrong-hand handwriting recognition. The pen on the ASUS Vivotab Note 8 is […]

I’ve just unboxed two 8-inch Windows 8.1 tablets. The ASUS Vivotab Note 8 and Dell Venue Pro 8 both have digitizer layers but one has a Wacom layer and a pen compartment.
