Akori AK-7 brand for the Mobits VX3

Remember the VX3. The ruggedised UMPC that I found back in early August?

Well Frank over at Ultramobile PC Tips has done us all a favor and published a tip he's received. I don't think he's spotted that its the ruggedised Mobits VX3 design though. (Don't worry Frank. I missed the similarity between the Arima and Medion devices last week!)

Akori appear to be acting as a distributor it and are selling it as the AK-7 UMPC.

So what can we expect from it?

Well, think Samsung Q1b. Its got the same CPU and chipset although the Akori is available with XP embedded and flash storage so we could be talking a pretty swift Q1b.

This is obviously a specialised solution so expect a specialised price although at the moment I can't see any reseller info anywhere so price and availability is still a mystery. I wonder if TabletKiosk are looking at this one. They don't have a ruggedised UMPC in their portfolio yet.

BTW, I wonder what battery life this one will have with a PCMCIA Card connected. Those card were big power suckers.
