Lenovo IdeaPad A10 alternatives

Information from 02 Jun 2014.

The Lenovo IdeaPad A10 is a 10.1" Android 4.2 Convertible Laptop. It is based on the Rockchip RK3188 CPU and comes with 1GB of RAM. Lenovo shows off the standards of Android based Laptops with WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, a microSD cardslot and a multitouch display. The display itself can be rotated 300° around the laptop for a 'stand' mode. It is a budget device somewhere around 200 USD so it doesn't pack some of the more serious hardware. This is more a Netbook replacement for some media usage or some light office usage.

Lenovo IdeaPad A10 alternatives

Asus Transformer Book Flip TP200, 11.6 inch, 1200 grams (2.65 lbs)
The 2015 Transformer Book TP200 is a fold-back design unlike last years model, the T200TA and so joins other flip models in the Asus range. The CPU choices are the entry level and low power Braswell SoCs along with 2 or 4GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. IPS is nice but resolution is disappointing. Note it has a DC in socket and USB-C.
Asus Chromebook Flip ( C100), 10.1 inch, 900 grams (1.98 lbs)
The Asus Chromebook Flip is the world's first 10" convertible Chromebook with a full metal chassis, so a user can go from laptop to tablet form factor in a flip. Chrome OS has been optimized for touch with features such as Google Now, voice recognition, and virtual keyboard handwriting. The Flip is powered by a Rockchip quad-core processor with 2GB/4GB RAM. It has a 10-finger multi-touch screen, with a comfortable wide key-pitch keyboard and all-day mobile ability. Dual band WiFi AC and bluetooth 4.0 support. Durabilty is helped by being carved from a single block of aluminum and the power supply and SoC combination seems duarable as up to 13 hours usage is claimed.
Lenovo Yoga 3 11, 11.0 inch, 1100 grams (2.43 lbs)
The Lenovo Yoga 3 11 is refined and now fanless for 2015. There's a metal keyboard surround, lighter weight, a USB/power combo port and on-board audio processing in hardware. Lenovo have also slightly refined the hinge.
Lenovo Ideapad Flex 10, 10.1 inch, 1200 grams (2.65 lbs)
The Lenovo Ideapad Flex 10 mini-laptop offers touch, a good keyboard, USB3.0 and a multi-mode screen for a good price. There's no SSD inside, no SD card slot and a relatively basic screen but for the price this is a good value Windows 8 laptop in a netbook style.
Dell XPS 11, 11.6 inch, 1134 grams (2.5 lbs)
The Dell XPS 11 is a foldable Windows 8 laptop-hybrid like the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11. With a 360 degree foldable screen it can be used either in laptop or tablet mode. At just around 1,1 kg it is pretty light to carry around in a bag. Something we like to mention is the 2560x1440 pixels resolution display Dell packed in there. With an not Intel Core i5 Haswell processor it should be capable of handling all office cases one could imagine, plus some basic level gaming.
Panasonic AX, 11.6 inch, 1140 grams (2.51 lbs)
This Panasonic convertible is available in Japan and offers some of the best we've seen in terms of specs, weight, size and features. This is an 11.6" Full SSD convertible in 1.1KG! Vpro models available. Sensor pack included. Unfortunately the screen is only 1366x768 but on an 11.6" screen, that's acceptable for most.
MSI S20 Slidebook (Slidebook S20 0M-048US), 11.6 inch, 1170 grams (2.58 lbs)
MSI is working on second generation Ultrabook which features a touchscreen and convertible functionality. The S20 is a convertible Ultrabook which uses a sliding design, much like the Asus Eee Pad Slider and long forgotten (and never sold) Samsung Slider 7. The MSI S20 is equipped with Windows 8 which Microsoft has retooled for touch input with the Metro interface (pictured above). The S20 is exciting because it will be one of the first touchscreen convertible Ultrabooks with both Ivy Bridge and Windows 8 — a combination that could actually represent a good touchscreen computing experience in the world of mainstream PCs for the first time.
