WeTab WeTab alternatives

As time goes on, this Meego build is going to get better and we look forward to the addition of the AppUp store. The hardware platform is relatively old fashioned though so the WeTab products could start to shine more when the second generation is released.

First deliveries in September. Pricing: 449 Euro for 16GB and Wifi. 569 For 32GB with 3G, GPS and HD video playback support. Application stores also due to come with OTA firmware update.

Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet, 10.1 inch, 715 grams (1.58 lbs)
The Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet is a standard Tegra 2 device with 3G options and up to 64GB Storage. It does feature an IPS display with Gorilla Glass. With its full size USB slot and its SD Card Slot it provides good connectivity for file exchange on the go.
Lenovo IdeaPad K1, 10.1 inch, 750 grams (1.65 lbs)
The Lenovo IdeaPad K1 is an Tegra 2 powered 10.1" Android Tablet. It comes with Android 3.0 and should get Android 4.0 (aka Ice Cream Sandwich) in Q2 2012. At its pricepoint and its still powerful Tegra 2 chipset it offers a good starting point for Tablet starter.
Acer Iconia Tab A200, 10.1 inch, 704 grams (1.55 lbs)
The Acer Iconia Tab A200 is a new Tablet featuring Android Ice Cream Sandwich. It is a fairly regular Tegra 2 based device with an 10.1 inch display at a resolution of 1280x800. It's battery lasts for about 7 hours at video playback. At it's price of 350€ it can be a good competitor agains the iPad.
HTC Jetstream, 10.1 inch, 700 grams (1.54 lbs)
Gigabyte S1081, 10.1 inch, 895 grams (1.97 lbs)
Medion Lifetab, 10.1 inch, 720 grams (1.59 lbs)
Motorola Xoom Family Edition, 10.1 inch, 650 grams (1.43 lbs)
Dell Latitude ST, 10.1 inch, 816 grams (1.8 lbs)
With a focus on business, the Latitude ST offers a hi-resolution screen and long battery life along with basic connectivity options with full-size ports. The casing is rubberised for grip. Capcative and Digitiser inpout layers are included. The optional docking station adds Gigabit Ethernet and comes with a keyboard. The 'Oaktrail' Z670 isn't a powerful CPU so multi-tasking will be limited. If the SSD is fast, it will help improve Windows 7 performance, otherwise it could feel quite sluggish.
Fusion Garage Grid 10, 10.1 inch, 960 grams (2.12 lbs)
The Grid 10 runs Fusion Garage's own 'Grid' OS which is based on the Android Kernel. It will be able to run Android apps but does not have access to the Android Market. The Amazon App Store will be pre-installed on the device as well as Fusion Garage's own app store. It's unlikely that Fusion Garage's Grid is going to be able to compete with Apple or Google's mobile operating system offerings. The tablet itself is lacking in connectivity and ports with only one proprietary docking connect, no MicroUSB (USB can be added through an adapter), no HDMI out (can be added through an adatper), no MicroSD card slot.
Archos 101 G9, 10.1 inch, 649 grams (1.43 lbs)
Certainly one of the most unique Honeycomb tablets yet announced. The Archos 80 (G9) offers two distinct memory options, 16GB flash or 250GB of HDD storage. The 250GB version is slightly thicker and heavier (size/weight listed in our database is the 16GB version). For $49 you can purchase an unlocked 3G USB modem which docks seamlessly into a slot in the back of the device. This modem will also work with PCs.
