MIDMoves at SXSW. More MID hands-on.

The MIDMoves team is starting another project which means for the second time this month, I’m going to be handling a stack of new MIDs. This time, MIDMoves is going to the South by South West Interactive festival and we’re taking a huge pile of MIDs with us. If you haven’t heard of SXSW Interactive, I guess the best way to explain it is ‘Cream of Web2.0.’ At least that’s how I’m understanding it at the moment. It’s got a reputation for attracting big names in the Web industry and for being quite the lions-den when it comes to making presentations or launching services. If you get it wrong at SXSW, word gets out very quickly!

We’ve got a great list of devices that range from the entry-level Benq S6 all the way up to the OLED-toting OQO Model 2+. We’ve got the pocketable S5 UMPC, the Compal MIDs and I’ve even heard that we’ll have a couple of new devices, the UMID M1 and the Lluon Mobbit. As lead-man on this event, I’ll be blogging, capturing images and videos, doing podcasts and trying to present as much as I can on MIDMoves but I’ll also be bringing you good hands-on reports here as the devices won’t be locked away in the evenings.

I’m flying out on Thursday 12th and I’ll be back the following Thursday. In-between Ben and I should be able to keep you updated on other news but if you think we’ve missed anything, use the contact form to tip us and we’ll get right on it.

For the record, MIDMoves is an Intel sponsored ‘blog-event’ project that I run and has nothing to do with UMPCPortal. Fortunately, there are no limits on what and how I report (a spade is a spade right?) so I get the advantages of early, real-world hands on for UMPCPortal readers
