Talk Tablets, Smartphones, Pads, and More in Our Mobile Computing Forum

Updated on 06 October 2014 by

In partnership with our other mobile computing websites, we’ve just opened the doors on a new forum that we hope will foster more in-depth discussion about the devices we love (or don’t.) We get lots of intelligent comments on our day-to-day articles, and we think that time should be rewarded with a forum where discussion can bloom, instead of falling away as an article gets older and pushed further down the front page. Please join us!

We’ve started the new forum over at and it to covers the segments that match our three main websites. UMPCPortal for pro-mobile and PC-based handheld devices and netbooks. Carrypad for consumer mobile devices and Ultrabooknews for ultra-light mainstream laptops.

The forum continues from the old UMPCPortal forum and is already stacked with users and posts. Anyone that was a member at UMPCPortal forums is already enabled. We’ve extended the forums to cover tablets, smartphones and other mobile internet devices.

Take the chance to register and start sharing your knowledge, asking questions and finding out more about devices. The Carrypad-related section is here and it’s organised by manufacturer and device. There’s a general forum for all the other stuff. The new sections are quite fresh but we’re sure they’ll pad out nicely before long.

Forum pro’s might notice that some features aren’t enabled or optimised. We’re still tweaking the set-up so don’t hesitate to give us feedback and tips. Vbulletin is a new process for us.

We hope you get stuck in with the forums; I know Ben, myself, and all the other members of the Carrypad team are looking forward to mobile computing chat with you there.

Please help us spread the word!
