Lenovo’s onslaught of new devices continues with a new Yoga laptop, the Yoga 2 13 which looks to be the successor the the original Yoga 13 Ultrabook that debuted in 2012 and comes with a set of features that set it apart from the higher end Yoga 2 Pro.

While there are improvements compared to the original Yoga 13 the new Yoga 2 13 is definitely lower in the pecking order in Lenovo’s current lineup. First off the Yoga 2 13 comes with a 1920×1080 full HD touchscreen rather than the 3,200 x 1,800 panel of the Yoga 2 Pro and processor options are limited to a 4th generation Core i5 chip, while storage comes in either a 500GB HDD or as a 500GB hybrid SSD/HDD drive.

RAM comes in a more standard configuration with up to 8GB DDR3 available and there’s the usual complement of Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi B/G/N, 720p webcam as well as two USB ports (1 USB 3.0, 1 USB 2.0), HDMI and a card reader. This time around though Lenovo has updated the AccuType keyboard with backlighting.

Lenovo also includes extras like Lenovo Voice Control and Motion Control for navigating photos and presentations.

Battery life is up to 8 hours in a 3.5 pound package measuring 330 x 221.2 x 17.3 mm.

Availability is expected to start in February starting at $999.

This is priced more than I would expect considering these specs.
