The ASUS press event has just started as I write this but some of the big tech websites already have information on ASUS #Zensation event launches. The first one for ultra mobile PC fans to take note of is the Transformer Book T100HA. This is an update on the original, and popular, 2-in-1 and therefore positioned below the T100 Chi at a value price-point. The new version now runs an Atom X5 CPU and includes a USB-C port. The screen resolution remains at
1366 x 768 1280 x 800 which isn’t a surprise because otherwise it would clash with the T100 Chi.
You’ll like the news that it’s available with 4GB RAM.
Given the 64-bit credentials on the CPU it should be easier to boot this into alternative operating systems although you might also be happy with the pre-installed Windows 10.
There’s no word on price or release date yet but expect more details to be given after an official Windows 10 launch date is announced. As with previous versions of the T100 you’ll probably see 2GB versions and a an optional HDD for the keyboard dock.
