Mobilx were in touch yesterday with an update on availability of some of the most interesting UMPCs of the year. They will be selling the UMID M1 and the complete range of Viliv devices; the S5, X70 and S7.
Prices start, for the UMID M1, the S5 and the X70, at 543 Euros with the S7 starting at just 570 Euros (all prices inclusive of EU taxes so you don’t need to worry about customs and import costs if you’re in the EU) and if you order now you can expect shipment soon after the 20th November.
If you’re new to the UMPC scene I think it’s fair to say that these 4 devices are probably the most important UMPCs of 2009 and represent a great step forward in quality, performance and price. It’s great to see another reseller picking them up.
For details and prices, check out the UMPC page at Mobilx.

that’s right, the M2 will be great. I hope it’s coming soon and i hope mobilx is going to sell it. If there’s a decent pricing, i think the M2 will also sell much better than the much too expensive aigo. So, don’t disappoint us, mobilx.
I think there are quite a few people waiting for the M2. I will be getting one, that’s for sure

Has anyone looked at their prices ?
The Viliv X70 is listed at 208 HUF (Hungarian currency), which is about… 1 (one !) US dollar: http://www.mobilx.hu/en/netbook-es-umpc/viliv-umpc/viliv-x70-premium-s32-3g-eng-.html
You can also get an ASUS 1005HA for about 30 cents. (http://www.mobilx.hu/en/netbook-es-umpc/asus-netbook/asus-eee-pc-1005ha-blk076x-fekete-netbook.html)

This is a web site that I like to read every day and I had been tracking the Viliv X70′s availability and prices since its commercial launch. The arrival of a new competitor is always welcome but I like to be cautious before making an on-line purchase.
Is there anyone with experience buying from both resellers, Dynamism and Mobilx, that could evaluate their behaviour? Are both reliable companies? May I trust them? Is there any advantage if I choose Mobilx because I’m living in Europe (although both define themseves as ‘worldwide resellers’)?
I’ve read about some Umpcportal & Mobilx agreement. That can put Umpcportal in a non-neutral position but could it be be understood as a sympthom of confidence?
Which of them, in your opinion, is the best purchase (price + added value)?
I would appreciate your comments and advices.
César
