Acer Iconia Tab W700 Alternatives
Acer Aspire Switch 10, 10.1", 585gm
The Acer Aspire Switch 10 offers 2-in-1 tablet/laptop Windows 8.1 at a very low price. The product competes with the ASUS Transformer Book T100 well and offers multiple 'modes' via the flexible magnetic hinge. Screen resolution is a relatively basic 1366x768 and there's no additional battery in the keyboard but as a consumer-focused dual-mode PC/Tablet the Aspire Switch 10 will offer good value in creation and consumption activities.
ASUS Transformer Book T300 Chi, 12.5", 720gm
Impressive. The Transformer Book T300 Chi 2-in-1 was introduced at Computex 2014 and finally launched at CES 2015. The incredibly thin 7.6mm tablet design is just 16.5mm thick when snapped together with the keyboard. It's a fanless 2-in-1. Available from Feb 2015
Dell Venue 11 Pro, 10.8", 770gm
Available in Baytrail and Core processor versions the Dell Venue 11 Pro is aimed at more proffesional use. Two keyboard options offer a similar choice to the Microsoft Surface Pro. Well built and including a removable battery.
Acer Iconia W510 , 10.1", 576gm
The Acer Iconia W510 is a Transformer-style hybrid. It features a 10.1″ screen, 8.9mm thickness, 576 grams (w/o keyboard) and 32GB or 64GB of storage. The tablet has a SIM slot, microSD, micro-USB, and HDMI (unspecified connector type), as well as volume buttons, a microphone, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Keyboard dock is optional and doubles as an extra battery providing up to 18 hours of batter life.
Lenovo Miix 2 10, 10.1", 589gm
The Lenovo Miix 2 10 looks to be the perfect travellers mobile laptop. Lightweight with good battery life (8hrs quoted) and all in a nice-looking and flexible multimode package. $499 launch price won't include 3G/4G but at least there's an option.
Fujitsu Stylistic Q584, 10.1", 640gm
Clearly aimed at business markets but offering some ofthe best specifications we've seen on the first wave of Baytrail tablets. 4G, 640gm, IGZO 2650x1600 screen, Digitizer and a built-in 38Wh battery are all high-end.
Lenovo Thinkpad Helix, 11.6", 785gm
The Lenovo Thinkpad Helix offers an advanced tablet/laptop configuration with battery capacity up to an impressive 70Wh with the clamshell dock. The weight, however, is high at 1.7KG, much more than other 11.6" ultrabooks that go down to 1KG. SSD options, CPU options (including VPro support) and memory up to 8GB give the business user and consumer a wide choice of configurations. We think the Lenovo Helix is going to be very popular here on Ultrabooknews but pricing will be high. Starting price: around $1500.
