While we fuss about MID pricing, the cost of UMPCs is dropping quickly around us. The Q1 Ultra EL which comes with the 800Mhz processor, 1GB RAM and 40GB drive but leaves out the Bluetooth and cameras is available for $659 at Buy.com right now. With the lowest pricing in Europe at around 1500 dollars I’d recommend everyone in Europe who wants a Q1 Ultra to make friends with someone in the U.S. and get them to ship it over. Even after paying the tax, you’re going to save over $600.

Right, but to mail this thing to let’s say Germany will cost about the same as the device. And that is without insurance, add taxes that you will have to pay in EU, and it will cost you same $1500 if not more.

Budget about 50 Euros for shipping.
Add 19% for local taxes.
You save hundreds of dollars….
BUT
If you are OK with the 600Mhz version, Expansys have a great offer with the organiser pack and keyboard for about 650 Euros right now.

For us$690 you can get the q1u-v, which has bluetooth and sd card slot which the El doesnt have, ive seen it as low as $650. Theres a thread in the sansung subforum titled amazon…..
