While the Viliv S5 Premium Air might already come with an SSD and internal 3G, there is nothing stopping you from modding a standard Viliv S5 [Portal page] to include these premium options. Maybe you are doing it to save money? Maybe because you love to mod? Whatever the case, jkkmobile shows you how in this helpful video.

That mod isn’t one for mere mortals!
I’ll wait for the air if I want internal 3G…..

I think your article description is somewhat misleading. I read this and think “great, I can just pop my PCI-E modem in the S5 (like I did with my Everun). Not so.
I doubt that there is one individual in 1000 who would be willing to solder a PCI-E connecter onto their PC board like JKKmobile discusses. Not to mention the fact that if you do so, you will not be able to use a HDD, but must purchase the half-size SSD (since the PCI modem and HDD are physically required to occupy the same space).
At least the Vilv TV antenna will then be put to a good use: serving as the antenna for the 3G modem. Of course, this antenna is designed to operate in an entirely different frequency range, so I wonder what kind of signal you will get in marginal areas…

think i will wait on the premium air as this is not a mod for the faint hearted, dont mind giving something a try but this is for the elite modder.
