Netbook manufacturers are always searching for ways to subsidise (read ‘hide’) the cost of their products. One of the ways to do this is to use the device as a point-of-sale. Apple do this with their iPhone and iPod touch and the model will appear more and more as time goes on. Expect the Archos 9 tablet PC to use a similar model because that’s just what Archos are planning with their new 10″ netbook…

This is a rather odd pairing. I cannot imagine anyone walking into a BB and dropping $ on a netbook, especially since 1) the BB sales people probably won’t know anything about the product 2) there will be no on sight service 3) Archos ia pretty much an unknown in the US. I’m just speculating here, but this smells a bit like desperation because Archos has been dropped from the likes of Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Target etc. I’d bet my booty this is some kind of consignment deal just to test the waters.
Let’s see, I’ll take “The Ten Commandments” “Ten Things Things I Hate About You” “10″ “Malcolm X” oh and an Archos 10 while I’m here!!!
