The LG Xnote Z330 has already been announced in South Korea with confirmation that it’s coming to Europe but it looks like we’ll get our first chance at hands-on at CES next week. LG will be showing the Z330 along with a 14” version, the Z430.

The Z330 sports a 13.3” screen (1366×768) 4GB RAM and i7 Sandy Bridge processors (we’re seeing pre-order sites showing Core i5 too) and indications are that it will launch at the $1000/€1000 mark.  Expect an Intel Wi-Fi card for Wi-Di capability, full-size HDMI and USB3.0 port but no VGA port and only a micro-SD card slot.

The Z430 will be a slightly different beast with SSD and HDD (we suspect as two drives, not a hybrid drive based on the claimed boot speeds) and a 14” screen. The chassis will be 19.9mm thick and will weigh 1.5KG. The full specifications aren’t know at the moment.

Official availability was not given in the press release but in Europe, the first shipments of the Z330 are expected to be available in February. USA availability should be around the same timeframe.

We’ll bring you video and a hands-on report next week from CES.

Liliputing has reported that the Xnote Z330 will have only a 3 cell battery.. http://liliputing.com/2012/01/lg-introduces-z330-and-z430-ultrabooks.html

I have to believe that that’s complete BS; that would RUIN what looks to be an ultra high-end ultrabook.

I don’t like the 6 hour battery life numbers, but a 3 cell battery would probably make me cry. This looks to be the most attractive Ultrabook and the most attractive COMPUTER made, I really hope they don’t choke by putting a 3 cell battery in the thing and trying to charge $1000 for a machine with a 3 cell battery….

It seems to me that the ultrabooks are going to be an accurate answer to the MacBook Air remains to be seen whether they have the style of these. One thing is for sure the price is much lower with the same capabilities. A brand that has always known class creating computers is Asus. I found the analysis to two new books in http://mixandbrowse.tk/ultrabooks-the-new-hype/ that seem to explain well with what we can hope level of equipment.
