Fujitsu P1610 information. Euro pricing available.

GottaBeMobile have just posted some nice info taken from this forum thread.

Someone got hold of a pre-review unit and gave it the once over. Apparently the palm-resistant passive screen is very good which is good for those into inking. As its got a bigger screen (8.9″) its more important to prevent the palm affecting the registering of pen input.

They also mentioned that pricing could be available on the 1st Nov and that an official announcement will be made on the 7th Nov.

The current P1510 is a highly regarded ultra mobile device and it will be interesting to see how the P1610 is received. Also interesting will be seeing if the P1510 will be continued at a lower price. I see no reason to drop it. Now that the ultra mobile PC market is forming, why not drop the price by $300 bringing the street price down to ultra mobile PC levels. That could put the cat amongst the pigeons!

European price revealed.

Regarding the German market, we have a price! I see it up at The Tablet Store , a specialist Tablet PC reseller for 2199 Euro. This is the 512MB/60GB version with XP Tablet Edition sold here as the FSC Lifebook P1610. They also mention on the website that it will be available in Jan 2007 with UMTS. Not HSDPA – shame but still, not bad.

I’ve updated the datasheet to reflect the new information.

Steve / Chippy.
