Pocketables reports that the N800 is available for $243, Staying Connected reports a $242 price and Thoughtfix reports $279. The same thing has happened in Germany too. The price has dropped to €238 which is, despite my complaint that its slow and incomplete, a very good deal indeed.

But would you buy one knowing that the $400 price bracket is being cleared for a new Nokia tablet device? With a slider keyboard? And a more consumer focused one at that. Its a good bet that its going to be an ARM based device but will it be fast enough? If it is, it will instantly be the best mobile Internet device available and could seriously upset Intels MID plans for 2008. Is it worth waiting?

Catching up on some ‘starred’ news items last week I see that there’s a bit of a Nokia theme going on.
