University students design Dell UMPC Concepts

Now that sounds like a fun exam. Students at the Brigham Young University were presented with the task of designing a Dell ultra mobile PC as their semester final in industrial design class.  Different teams had to design devices for different purposes. These included an outdoor device, a device for college students, a device for creative professionals, and one for young adults. What’s most ineressting is that while the students were presenting their device mockups, top Dell executives listened via a conference call. Considering Dell just released a tablet, a ultra mobile PC may not be far off. Let’s just hope the price won’t be as outrageous.
