Asus N10 – The high-end EEE

Posted on 24 August 2008, Last updated on 11 November 2019 by

This new model is approaching the thin line between netbooks and notebooks. I guess thats why Asus chose not to release it under the EEE brand. Or perhaps they realized people are getting confused having so many EEE models around. Whatever the reason was, this new model sure has some unique features: there is a new glossy black and silver case which looks great, a 10 inch 1024×768 1024×600 screen, Altec Lansing speakers, a fingerprint reader, 1.3 megapixel webcam, and an HDMI out. Thats a pretty impressive list of features for a device that is supposedly only going to cost 400 euro. No mention of processor speed or type, but it will probably be an Atom. Blogeee speculates that it might even be dual-core. At least thats what I understand from my limited French ;)

    I really hope that’s a 1280×768 screen and not 1024×768…!?

The note also says: probably exress card and “telephone” (3G, i think) and continius compare with 1000 and 1000H.
    Looks like a derivate.
If we look the “ASUS pyramid”, could be the propose 1000HV or T101 but if will be produce with an dual ATOM could be 1002SA or HA.
    How knows?
Any way, i don´t spect to see or but they.
Here (Argentina) an 900 cost U$S730,-….

i have really gone of the netbook idea, but most specifically the ‘premium’ netbook idea.

the 945 chipset is a disgrace, and as a tech enthusiast i simply cannot bring myself to spend money on something that was crap 5 years ago, and has matured with the same grace as a communal cesspit.

give me a low power PUMA, we know from Toms that the chipset can handle it.

I guess the “Fingerprint reader” is that lovely glossy black frame all round the screen! LOL When are these guys ever going to realise that gloss is like a frothy beer; it’s only good to write your name on.

Wouldn’t give a penny for a notebook below 768 pix height.
Personally the 10″ versions are too large for me.
9″ is more then enough for a mini-notebook, and for 9″ they could give 1280×768 or similar.

8,5″ screen would be perfect, with 80% keyb.
