Benq S6 overview video

Posted on 22 August 2008, Last updated on 11 November 2019 by

Here’s the video overview of the well-executed Benq S6. Nice user interface, good styling and a few unique features like shake-to-overview and auto-rotation. Its going to launch through a European telecoms carrier very soon so it’s difficult to get an idea of price because you’ll be paying for it with an included data contract. In the video below I take a closer look at the device and demo some of the UI. The lighting was terrible but later on in the video, we moved to a lighter area.

Really? Working here. Anybody else having probs?

  3. MiKeN says:

No problems here. The UI is nice but I’m not much for the look of the device. It’s to bad that other MIDs weren’t coming out next week.

    I have no problems too.
As far as I can see, it seems to me that it’s tough to beat the Gigabyte M528 (Aigo/Compal). That kind of measures and that physical keyboard, for me, and for what I need, it’s fantastic.

video started working for me. I dunno I like it, that is if it is smaller than the Cowon p5 and the SQ is good(I doubt you find any MID/UMPC that will sound as good as Cowon products). The only downside to the P5 would be the S6’s interface is way nicer than the skin cowon did for windows ce. I just want a dedicated video and and audio device.

OK, first time I’ve paid attention this this. Yeah, very nice. They did some work on that UI. Don’t know about that shaking. Could see it flying out of the hand!

It competes with the iPhone and iPod Touch (despite your “It’s FIE!!!” assertion), though, so …

… price will matter *a lot*. Do you think this will hit the U.S.?

  7. Allan Gude says:

    Hey Chippy.

Did BenQ6 come with software from one Voice Technologies ? and did you have the chance too test it ?

    regards Allan Gude

And now I was just thinking … these MIDs are meant to be be That’s All You Get devices (at least the Linuxed ones) — no other apps to load/buy/want. 770 flashbacks.

Do we have the outer dimensions? Any idea if there will be an EVDO version?

    Thanks!
