"I want this"

Just using the mids has a very similar reaction with most people we encounter: “I want this” or as CC Chapman said “do I have to Korea to get this?”. Most of the people we encountered only had to take a quick look to realize what they had there, and I think this is one of the key elements I take away from this whole midmoves tour: Give the people more access to the tools and gadgets, let them play with it and ‘be in awe’.

After fetching “my” OQO back from Jeff I used the little one yesterday not only for demonstrations like below to Corvida from shegeeks.net but pretty much anybody else.

The video you are seeing is from my new Flip Mino HD and while I am still trying to get everything figured out, one thing is clear: As the Flip only has 60 min of video available you will want something on the road to take of those videos and be able to record again. With the OQO in my pocket I can do exactly that and don’t neet to rely on schlepping around a heavy laptop like Corvida.

The only disadvantage is that if you are on the road with this, rendering the video is not easy and as a matter of fact I first thought my videos where kaputt – but it was more that the power of the oqo was not *that* big to render them – also you want a second battery for these kinds of tasks.

Today at SXSW we are going to have a blogger gadgety meetup at 1:30 in the blogger lounge and try to get some more people not only interested in having a look at the gadgets, but also I will want to record some of their reactions as most of them are as cute as Corvida’s. ;)

Now if you excuse me, I have to pick up my second gadget ;)

the setup seems similar to what the gottabemobile people used at CES one year. oqo’s and flip’s…

I’d love to talk to them about their setup, thanks for the hint – i am not seeing an easy way to upload it without a lot of strain on the battery. Oh well maybe a third battery is useful ;)

it was always like this in it – show people the “things” instead of theoretically bragging about the stuff – and the know at once what before by abstraction only way unimaginable
    ppc’s. smartphones, netbooks …..
therefore i absolutely do not understand the actual trend to blow up e.g netbooks with the argument “the saucy fingers of overfed costumers will need this”
