IDF Kit List

Only 24hrs to go now before I set off so it’s time to put the kit list together.

For the blogging and media creation (including video editing) it’s going to be the Gigabyte Touchnote T1028M convertible touchscreen model running Windows XP. I’ve also got a spare battery for a total of 8 hours working time.

For microblogging I’ll be taking my Fujitsu U820. It will probably remain in my hands most of the time and will be used for a lot of twitter and news monitoring while I’m at IDF. That TokiDoki design is also good as a conversation starter!

Both of the PC’s are fitted with Runcore Pro IV SSDs so I’m rugged, silent and faster than average. The Fujitsu and Gigabyte also have excellent WiFi properties which is important when you’re trying to steal bits from an overloaded hotspot.

In addition to this i’ll have the usual collection of cables, connectors, cards and converters. The Canon S2IS will be the video/photo device and the N82 will be my phone.

Did I forget anything?

    What about the MiFi?

Is there a business of selling SIM cards for a week – or something similar and easy to use – in the States?
