so you guys are judging the entire Ontario platform based on ONE device? when all of you know that a device battery life consist of much more than just the CPU/GPU. how do you know the poor battery life isnt because of the screen, ridiculous speakers, defective battery, etc?

if all of you guys truly believe Fusion is too blame for the Toshiba bad 3.5hr battery life, how do you explain the Acer 522 5-6hr battery life?

  9. NomeRocin says:

Easy, Chippy & the others are sponsored by Intel. Why do you think Chippy is one of the ONLY bloggers that actually talks about “Intel AppUp”?

So while I like their sites, when it comes to anything AMD you just can’t take their word for it. Besides, I actually own the 522 & get about 5 hours under load & 6-6.5 hours just surfing. So how can they explain that?

  10. Chippy says:

My trip to MWC was sponsored by Intel and I was under no obligations to do any posting for them. My blogging history will show you that I’ve been positive about their ecosystem for a long time. Way before any sponsorshi! I’m as open as anyone for a new platform from a new vendor and if you follow my Galaxy Tab history, you’ll see how ARM fits in nicely! I want AMD to bring an Atom challenger to the table but in terms of cpu, cpu, all results for Ontario so far point to less efficiency for the same processing power.

  11. Chippy says:

Yes, more products need to be tested but at least we already know that the cpu performance on Ontario isn’t going to match Atom N550.

  12. Neutralizer says:

Atom is the one should be blamed. At least, AMD APU (E or C series) can run DX11 games, or some main stream games, such as COD4, NBA2K11, even WoW with a playable FPS.

    What’d you got, Atom?
