Asus UX21A and UX31A Product Pages Live, UX21A Teardown, Launch Imminent


While it might be easy, thanks to a deluge of exciting new Ultrabooks, to forget about what many of us looking forward to just yesterday, Asus has finally put up official product pages for the Zenbook Prime UX21A and UX31A. We’re likely to see both of these next-generation Ultrabooks on sale in the very near future. The Zenbook microsite has been updated as well, and AnandTech has a teardown of the UX21A for anyone interested in the internals.

ASUS TaiChi in Presentation Video


TechinStyle, who I believe is an ASUS project, have an exclusive first look at the ASUS TaiChi.

The video is worth watching for details and a great demo of the screens, both HD and IPS.

USB3.0 x2, combo 3.5 audio jack, micro HDMI, mini display port connectors, and a host of table sensors. Note that the power, screen and rotation lock are also mirrored as keys on the keyboard.

ASUS Transformer Book – Ultrabook with Detachable Screen


Not only have ASUS gone and created another interesting design with the TaiChi, they’ve worked their magic on a a device called the ASUS Transformer Book. It’s an Ultrabook at heart but it has a detachable screen. Clearly a device for Q4 and WIndows 8 but, wow!

According to a first look post at TechinStyle, we’re looking at a Core i3/5/7 ‘notebook’ with Nvidia discreet graphics, 4GB of RAM, USB3.0, SSD and an HDD option. Surely this is an Ultrabook?

ASUS Zenbooks to Ship with BlueStacks Android Player

ASUS Zenbook Prime UX32VD gets First Test


The ASUS Zenbook Prime UX32VD looks nice, performs well, could be a casual gamer’s dream!

We’re surprised that so many 2nd-Generation ASUS Ultrabooks have found their way into the hands of reviewers. Considering the Ivy Bridge processors inside them are under NDA you would think that Intel could have kept a tighter control. Instead we’re getting reviews that don’t list CPU part numbers or CPU/GPU performance figures. There will be a huge number of updates on June 5th! Despite that, the UX32VD impresses and because the GT640M GT620M GPU isn’t under NDA, you can see some impressive gaming results.
